Golden Jubilee Play – Ek Anutha Safar

6TH December, 2014 was an extraordinary day in the history of St. Karen’s High School. On the joyous occasion of the Golden Jubilee, the school campus was aesthetically decorated to commemorate and convey the grandeur of the splendid land mark.

The programme started with the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp, by the Chief Guest Mr. S.M.Raju IAS, Secretary, Rural Development, Patna, the Director Mr. D.P. Galstaun,the Secretary Mrs L.B. Galstaun and the Principal Mrs. Seema Singh as the Golden Jubilee Song was sung by the School Choir. The Director of the school in his Welcome Speech thanked the Almighty God and spoke how the school has grown and excelled in leaps and bounds due to the collaborative efforts of the faculty and management over the years. The Tiny -Tots of the primary section won the hearts of the audience with their awesome performance in the Welcome Dance.

The special attraction of the evening was the play “Ek Anutha Safar” which made the evening a memorable one. The play was a tribute to the founders of the school and the underlying philosophy of the school that is exemplified through the Motto of the school which is ‘Labour Reaps Reward’. It’s message being ; that if one has firm determination, one can make the impossible, possible.

Through the main character of the play ‘Lakhan’ the story of his journey in St Karen’s unfurls and his saga echoes with the thoughts and feelings of thousands of Karenites that have passed through the portals of St.Karen’s and have made a mark in the world.

Four hundred and fifty students from Std. I to XII of the school participated in the play. The play was colourful in the sceneries brought to life on stage and in the dazzling costumes of the folk and contemporary dances .

The main characters of the play were:

Chunnu Babu – Shahrukh – VIII-B

Lakhan (at different ages)– Saiyed – I-B, Saurabh Agarwal – VIII-I, Gaurav – IX-F

Sharada – Medha - IX-I

They were supported by Rishabh – IX-I, Kunal – X-E, Ananth – IX-D, Vishakshi – X-A, Shubham Dubey – IX-H, Arman – IX-G, Tanvi – X-D, Aadrika – X-D, Ravisha – IX-G, Divya Shree - X-B, Sonam XII-A and Ritika Verma – X-C.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Seema Singh, in appreciating everything, expressed that St. Karen’s believes in inculcating the right values and attitudes among its students who will occupy valuable public positions in the future. The play was scripted and directed by Mrs. Rakhi Verma. Choreography was done by Mr. Amit Sagar and his team.
